abilityMarch Participation

Speed: 2mph or less
March Time: 45-60 Minutes
Start: 9:00 am
The abilityMarch follows behind the parade and offers a participation option for individuals and families who are interested in advocating for individuals with disabilities who are a part of our San Antonio community.

ABILITYMARCH: Registration Deadline Wed. Sept. 21st. Donation appreciation t-shirts will have limited availability after Friday, September 2nd.

abilityMARCH RULES AND REGULATIONS:
  • all participants in the abilityMARCH must be pre-registered by September 30th at noon.
  • all participants in the abilityMARCH must sign or participation waiver.
  • abilityMARCH participants must follow the city ordinances for processions.  It is unlawful by City Ordinance for parade participants to throw, distribute, or give away any leaflets, coins, souvenirs, candy or any other items in the forming area and the parade route. No articles, materials, or candy of any kind shall be distributed in the forming area, along the parade route or in the disbanding area without the approval of disABILITYsa. The discharging of firearms, cannons, fireworks and other loud devices is strictly prohibited.
  • NO banners will be admitted into the abilityMARCH section.  Posters 24" x 18" and smaller are acceptable as long as they adhere the 2022 abilitySTRONG theme and motto (Super Heroes...saving the world with unique abilities / My Ability Is Fierce)

The abilitySTRONG Parade and abilityMARCH are first amendment activities.  The City of San Antonio acknowledges a First Amendment activity to mean all expressive and associative activity that is protected by the United States and Texas Constitutions, including speech, press, assembly, and the right to petition.
