abilitySTRONG Parade
Parade Notification 
(Pre-Event Day)

Distribute information about the parade along parade route and on communication boards throughout San Antonio.

Parade Set-up
(6:00 am – 9:00 am)

Set-up registration, bandstand, parade route seating, etc.
 
Parade Cheer Teams
​(8:00am - 11:00am) 

GROUP REGISTRATION ONLY. Each group should sign-up for 1 slot only, but consist of a minimum of 6-10 individuals.
Ten Teams, of 6-10 Cheer Volunteers each, will
​be stationed along the parade route.

 
First Aid Cart
(8:00am - 11:00am) 

Promote the welfare of our attendees! 
Assist guests with their first aid needs and communicate issues with EMT, SAPD, and disABILITYsa Staff.

 

Parade Pooper Scoopers
(8:00am - 11:00am) 

Follow behind equestrian and service animal parade entries for the time-honored position of pooper scooper. No less than 3 volunteers will follow each equestrian/service animal entry.
 
Parade Banner Carriers
(8:00am - 11:00am) 

Carry banners for each Parade Section (2-3 per banner)
 
Disbanding Assistants
(8:00am - 11:00am) 

Volunteers will assist with the disbanding of the parade entries and will follow the lead of the Disbanding Director
 
Parade Water Stations
(8:00am - 11:00am) 

Volunteers will be stationed along the parade route. 5 stations with 3 volunteers each will be stationed along the parade route

AccessAbility fest
AccessAbility Fest Set-up
(7:00am - 10:00am)

Assist with the set-up of tables, chairs, signage, exhibitor arrival, registration, etc.

First Aid Station
(8:30 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)
Promote the welfare of our attendees! 
Assist guests with their first aid needs and communicate issues with EMT, SAPD, and disABILITYsa Staff.
 

​Parking Lot Attendants
(9:00 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)

Volunteers will ride the parking shuttle and establish appropriate entrances to the parking venue. Monitor and direct appropriate entering and existing of traffic.
 
"Follow Me" Directional Hosts
(9:00 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)

Walk around the event grounds and let people know about the topic area on your sign. Your sign will read "Follow Me to...". We'll make sure you know where this location is and what exhibitors are in that location. You'll assist people in find their way to the areas they are looking for information.
 
Greeters
(9:00 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)

Place a solid color wristband on every guest entering the event grounds. THIS IS IMPORTANT and how we determine how many people have attended the event. If the guest does not want to wear a wristband, ask them to take one to help us keep count.
 
Floaters 
(9:00 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)

Assist event coordinators where needed. Needs may vary. Touch base with volunteer headquarters every 20 min to identify where assistance is needed. You will help to fill in to allow breaks for greeters, wrist banders and others.

PERSONAL CAMERA REQUIRED
 
Mascot Assistants
(9:00 – 12:30pm) & (12:00 pm - 3:30pm)

Allow only Mascot and Mascot’s team and AccessAbility Fest staff in and out of changing area. Assist and walk around with the Mascot(s) as needed.
 
Hospitality Hosts
(9:00am - 12:30pm) (12:00pm - 3:30 pm)

Keep food, drinks, cups and plates stocked for vendors and volunteers. Distribute water and fruit to event exhibitors & volunteers.
 
Stagehand Assistants 
(9:00am - 12:30pm) (12:00pm - 3:30 pm)

Help facilitators and performers. Assist with prop transition between sets. Facilitate group transitions on and off stage
  
Vendor Assistants
(9:00am - 12:30pm) (12:00pm - 3:30 pm)

Make sure exhibitors have what they need, help them find solutions if they don’t.
 
Attendee Surveys 
(9:00am - 12:30pm) (12:00pm - 3:30 pm)

Survey various attendees about their AccessAbility Fest experience and more through the event.
 
Costume Selection Team
(12:00pm - 3:30pm shift only)

Spend your shift roaming the event and select 5 individuals who will participate as finalists in the costume contest.

AccessAbility Fest Clean-up/Tear Down
(2:00pm - 4:30pm). 

Support for tear down, load-up, and unload at storage.
